MINUTES
The entire discussion was based on the material that was handed out in the meeting. These included: The Department of Labour's presentation, through the use of transparencies, on motivation for and provision for the Bill.
The opening remarks by the chairperson, Mr Godfrey Oliphant. Introductory remarks by the Director-General of the Department of Labour, Mr Sipho Pityana. NEDLAC's report on Basic Conditions of Employment Bill.
Both the chairperson and the Director-General said that they hoped sufficient consensus had been arrived at to enable the Bill to be passed.
