Adoption of Committee Minutes
The Chairperson commenced a page-by-page review of the Committee Minutes. Members were satisfied and adopted the document without amendments.

Consideration of Committee Programme
The Chairperson considered the Draft Committee Programme. He noted that members may not be available on Friday (26/06/09) and asked if it was acceptable to move the presentation on the Committee Legacy Report to the following Tuesday (30/06/2009)

Mr A Watson (DA; Mpumalanga) pointed out that there were conflicts in the draft programme, noting that saw some members were scheduled to attend two meetings simultaneously. He also pointed out that some meetings were schedule for constituency days and others clashed with plenaries. He further stated that the meeting on 30 June 2009 would clash with budget votes.

Mr V Bloem (COPE; Free State) suggested that the Chairperson's forum be allowed to meet before the Committee adopted the draft programme due to the numerous schedule clashes.
These issues could be addressed at the Chairperson's forum level.

Mr M Mokgobi (ANC; Limpopo) responded that the majority of the Committee had accepted this arrangement at the last meeting. A consensus had been achieved. Any member who would have difficulty attending would have to personally contact the Chairperson in that regard.

Mr T Chaane (ANC; North West) stated that a programme had just been adopted by the Committee Whips. He was of the view that all committees should align themselves with that programme to avoid clashes. He supported Mr Bloem's suggestion.

The Chairperson responded that it would be appropriate to wait for the Chairpersons' meeting to be concluded. The programme generated at this meeting should be used to avoid clashes in the schedule.
