Black Authorities Act Repeal Bill [B9-2010]: final mandates
The final mandates of all nine provinces approved the Black Authorities Act Repeal Bill [B9-2010].
Opening remarks:
The Chairperson welcomed all members to the meeting and extended apologies from members who could not attend, namely Mr M Sibande (ANC, Mpumalanga), Mr M Makhubela (COPE, Limpopo), Prince M Zulu (IFP, Kwazulu Natal), and Mr J Gunda (ID, Northern Cape). The Chairperson was concerned about the lack of attendance by members, but was satisfied that enough members were present for a quorum if one was needed.
Black Authorities Act Repeal Bill [B9-2010]: Final Mandates
The Chairperson noted that all the mandates by the nine provinces had been received and requested the members from each province to read out their final mandates:
Western Cape Final Mandate
The Western Cape Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Mpumalanga Final Mandate
The Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Northern Cape Final Mandate
The Northern Cape Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Kwazulu Natal Final Mandate
The Kwazulu Natal Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Gauteng Final Mandate
The Gauteng Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Free State Final Mandate
The Free State Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Eastern Cape Final Mandate
The Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Limpopo Final Mandate
The Limpopo Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
North West Final Mandate
The North West Provincial Legislature voted in favour of the Bill.
Adoption of minutes:
The Chairperson presented the minutes of the meeting held on the 26 October 2010. It was adopted with no changes.
