Outstanding Minutes
The Chairperson tabled several outstanding minutes for consideration. The minutes were dated 5, 17, 23 March 2010, 20, 21 April 2010, 4, 7, 10, 28 May 2010, 1 June 2010, 11, 24, 25, 27 August 2010 and 14 September 2010. He requested that the Committee go through each minute separately and make the necessary corrections.
Members made minor corrections to the minutes dated 5, 23 March 2010, 10 May 2010 and 24 August 2010 before adopting them. The remaining minutes were approved without any changes.
Mr B Mashile (ANC, Mpumalanga) voiced concern about the Committee’s tendency of holding meetings just to adopt minutes.
The Chairperson assured Mr Mashile that he was mindful of his concern and that the meeting was important because the minutes to be adopted were long overdue.
The meeting was adjourned.
