Committee Programme
The Committee adopted its provisional First Term 2008 Programme, outstanding minutes and various oversight reports. The Chairperson deferred the adoption of the Committee’s 2007 Annual Report and several other Committee oversight visit reports.
Draft Committee First Term 2008 Programme
The Committee considered its draft Programme for the first quarter of 2008. After implementing a few minor amendments, Members adopted the draft Programme.
Committee Oversight Reports & Committee 2007 Annual Report
The Committee implemented certain amendments and then adopted its reports on oversight visits to the Aquaculture Institute of South Africa and to the South African Weather Service.
The Chairperson postponed the adoption of the remaining Committee Reports and the Committee’s Annual Report. He motivated that those documents were substantial and therefore Members needed more time to apply their minds.
Adoption of minutes
Members scanned through the outstanding minutes of several past meetings and were generally satisfied that they properly reflected the substance of those proceedings. Accordingly, the Committee adopted the minutes of the meeting held on 7 November 2007 without any amendment. Equally, the minutes of the 13, 14 and 20 November were adopted, with certain technical and grammatical amendments.
