MINUTES
Eight of the nine provinces supported the Bill with amendments: Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern
Cape, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, Free State, Northern
Province and the Western Cape. The North West Legislature resolved not to
submit mandates on the Bill, as it had not been briefed by the relevant
Committee Member on the Bill..
The Chairperson reminded Members that he had ruled at the previous meeting that
if more than 5 provinces supported the Bill, it would then be adopted by the
Committee. As the support of the number of provinces required was achieved, the
Committee adopted the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Amendment Bill,
with amendments. .
The meeting was adjourned.
