MINUTES
The Chairperson gave a report on the developments around the adverts. The Speaker had given reassurance that the Committee has the power to readvertise. The advert to be issued should call for nominations for a period of five years. The process will take about three months, during which period the Chairperson of the CGE will have to engage only in administrative issues. The Committee gives credence" to the staggering of the terms of office of Commissioners and should convey this to the President as a recommendation.

The advert should specify that previous applicants need to re-apply. Candidates whose applications have already been received would have to be checked upon to determine if they are still interested in being considered.

The Committee adopted a progress report for the House, seeking extension of its lifespan until its business is concluded.
