The following persons were in attendance:

The Chairperson welcomed everybody and proceeded to consider the following item of the agenda:
- The adoption of minutes of meeting held on 19 October 2005;
- The audit report of policies and statues relating to Healthcare and HIV and AIDS; Social Assistance (social grants: old-age pension, disability grant, childcare grant, foster care grant, and child support grant; Housing; Education; Water and Sanitation; Skills Development; ICT; Poverty Alleviation; Electricity; Women empowerment; Youth, People with Disabilities, and Children’s rights; and
- Preparations for public hearings to be held at the Parktonian Hotel in Braamfointein, Gauteng.
1. Adoption of minutes of meeting held on 19 October 2005
The Committee considered, agreed and adopted the minutes of meeting held on 19 October 2005.
2. Draft audit reports of policies and statutes
The Researcher briefed the Committee on the draft report of policies relating to Healthcare and HIV and AIDS; Social Assistance (social grants: old-age pension, disability grant, childcare grant, foster care grant, and child support grant); Housing; Education; Water and Sanitation; Skills Development; ICT; Poverty Alleviation; Electricity; Women empowerment; Youth, People with Disabilities, and Children’s rights.
The Committee agreed to consider the final audit report in the next meeting to be held on 2nd November 2005.
3. Preparations for public hearings to be held in Johannesburg and other
processes
The Administrator informed the Committee that she is already receiving submissions from various stakeholders and interested individuals and that it will meet on 2nd of November 2005 to consider all the submissions and to finalize the programme for the public hearings.
The Committee also agreed to publicise the notice of public hearings on national newspapers to notify the public about the hearings scheduled to take place in Johannesburg from 7th – 9th November 2005.
The Committee agreed to work on a draft media strategy to notify the public about the public hearings.
The meeting adjourned at 11h35 and the date of the next meeting is 02 November 2005 at 10h00.
