FINAL SELECTION OF CANDIDATES
The parties came with their choices from the final shortlist (which was:
J Seroke, L Ntutela, L Wessels, R Lyster, Z Majodina, G Baai, M Bossett, M Moletsane, S Makgato, T Manthata)

Agreement was reached on two candidates: M Bossett and T Manthata. No agreement could be reached on the choice of the third position and the committee met later in the afternoon where consensus was reached.

Mr Pityana, Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission, noted that he had sent a letter to the President requesting that all three positions be full-time. A response had not been received yet.
