Nominations received: discussion

The Chairperson, Ms Rantho, informed the committee that there were 78 nominations that the committee knew about and 3 new nominations. She said the committee had to decide whether they would accept the 5 nominations sent a day after the closing date, which was 17th August 1998. The members decided that they would accept the 2 posted nominations which had the date of the 14th August on it but would not accept the 3 which were faxed.

The committee decided that 10 nominations would be shortlisted, as only 3 vacancies had to be filled. As the members had not had sufficient time to peruse all the nominations, they suggested that they meet in a week's time.
