Review and extension of Code to provinces

The meeting, chaired by deputy chairperson Mr Ray Radue, National Party permanent delegate to the NCOP, discussed the following:

• Extension of the Code to the Provinces

Mr Radue reported that he had written a letter to the Chairperson of the NCOP, Mr Lekota, to place the issue of the code on the agenda of the Speakers' Forum. He had not received a reply.

• Audit of the Administration

Mr Radue reported that all outstanding disclosures had been received and that a 41 page memorandum had been sent to Idasa outlining all the errors in the previously published disclosure.

• Supplementary declarations

The registrar, Ms Fazila Mahomed, reported that she had received 27 supplementary declarations.

• Review of the Code

Discussion included disclosure of trips sponsored by outside sources; and the necessity to annually review the Code
