Progress Report of the Portfolio Committee on Communications on the process followed on recommending persons for appointment to the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Board, dated 13 January 2011:

The Portfolio Committee on Communications, having considered the nominations of candidates submitted for appointment to serve on the SABC Board in terms of Broadcasting Act, 4 of 1999, reports as follows:

Request from the Minister of Communications to fill 4 vacancies at SABC was referred to the Portfolio Committee on Communications on 20 October 2010 (see ATC 20 October 2010).

The Committee advertised and received 84 CV’s and unanimously shortlisted the following candidates:
