Council cites poor workmanship and irregularities in the appointment of
contactor.

NW Housing facilitated discussions and commissioned NHBRC to prepare
report on workmanship.
Agreement
that contractor will return to site to rectify defects, amidst budgetary
constraints.

- Rustenburg Regional Office
- Staff Training
CHALLENGES
ON THE RUSTENBURG PROJECT
·
Delays with procurement process compromised the project funding - (36m2
vs 40 m2)
·
NW Housing Department is engaging with the Municipality to resolve this
funding challenge.
·
Further delays stemming from concerns on the suitability of land for
township establishment.
·
The matter has since been referred to the DME and approval is awaited.
·
Anticipated construction date: June 07.
