The decision was taken to align the levels of policing i t.o section 205(1) of the Constitution which makes provision for three levels of policing, national, province and local.
IMPLEMENTATION
ACTUAL DEPLOYMENT
- A total of 8 535 personnel members were deployed to station level, i.e.:
- 6 484 (76%) personnel members were deployed to priority clusters
- Changed management at 101 of 169 (66%) contact. crime stations
- Overall, a total number of 239 station commissioners and 317 commanders were replaced in order to improve command and control and increase managerial capability at stations
