The Portfolio Committee on Education , Culture , Sport and Recreation (the Committee) deliberated on Education Laws Amendment Bill (B23B-2005) (the Bill).

The Committee conducted public hearings at Kangala Region (Thanduxolo Special School ) on 25 October 2005 and Gert Sibande Region (Msukaliwa Municipal Chamber) on 01 November 2005.

After the deliberation, the Committee supported the Bill with the following proposed amendment:

Section 2 (c) of the Bill should stipulate the number of days in which the Member of the Executive Council must respond to an appeal contemplated therein.

The permanent delegates representing the Province of Mpumalanga in the National Council of provinces are conferred with authority and mandated to vote in favour of the Bill.
