1.Administration
- All branding implementation of the new Coat of Arms ensuring compliance with government standards
- The Department successfully presented and promoted policies, priorities and de public.

Alignment of HRM policies with the relevant legislative framework
- Policies on Death of an Employee Management System were developed and implemented
- Language, Sexual Harassment, Resettlement, Recruitment and Selection and the HRD Financial Assistance Policies were developed/revised and are in the process of approval

Proper coordination of labour relations institutions in the Department
- Appointment of 6 employer representatives to the chamber
- 28 policies/collective agreements sent for ratification

- Implementation of e-Claims on 1 December 2004.
- Development of Siyaya, a system that endeavours to ensure alignment between business and IT systems.
- Provision of an IT Call Centre as single point of contact for all users to log IT related calls and requests.

- The GFS chart of accounts was successfully implemented.
- New control measures were implemented to ensure compliance with Chapter 6 of the PFMA.
- The Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) policy was drafted.

2. Service Delivery
- 90% of the UI claims finalised within 6 weeks and 46% of COIDA claims paid within 90 days
- National programme for the elimination of SILICOSIS launched.
- A Client Satisfaction survey conducted, about 68% of the respondents were assisted within 20 minutes of arrival at DoL offices.
- The Draft NOHSP was approved by the TTT and the Minister approved the submission
- AlA information brochures updated and finalised.

3.ESDS/ HRD
All SETAs concluded a Memoranda of Understanding with the DoL. Assessment results indicated that 23 SETAs are performing well and 2 achieved below average results.
- Pilot projects were conducted in the training of learners as part of INDLELA transformation to obtain Electrical, Wiremen, Licences with OHS, Master Artisan, Construction, Mech, Eng etc.
- lntergrated NSDS implementation 2003/04 was released March 2005 and 2004/05 report due to be released

4. LP & LMP
- Minimum wage conditions of employment for Contract Cleaning were reviewed and publish on November 2004
- The Child Labour Action Programme finalised
- Sectoral determination for Children in the arts published on 29 July 2004 in the Government Gazette no.26608
- 2 reports on the implementation of the GDS agreement were tabled before the Presidential joint working group in August and December 2004.
- The 2003 Annual Industrial Action report was completed and submitted to the Minister for approval to publish

5. Social Insurance
- Social Insurance contribute to the Unemployment Insurance Fund and provides for the compensation of public servants in cases of accidents or illness while on duty through the Compensation Fund.
- The UIF and CF published their own Annual Reports in terms of the PFMA
