SUBMISSION ON THE SPECIAL PENSION

On the 4th October 2005 there was a presentation made to the Cradock community by National Treasury Standing Committee members on the Special Pension Amendment Bill. As the ANC in this area we are faced with the problem of the people who are dissatisfied with some processes on accessing special pension.

We as the ANC in this Sub-Region we make this submission on the following

* that all deserving people but cannot be granted special pension due ro the gfact that they were below 35 years of age at the time of making application, be granted special pension when they reach the age of 35 years.

* that people who were expelled from their work places for belonging to political organisations or for taking part on the programmes of the political organisation, whether they were in prison or not, also be granted the special pension because most of them suffered dearly and that had negative impact on their families.

* Lastly, a minimum amount of money be granted to all special pensioners irrespective of age.

Yours in the struggle for a better life for all
