DHA verification process
Administration: Register personal details , Biometrics and take picture then issue card
Induction :Inmates are informed on the house rules , their rights, Services available and how To access them etc
Search and Store : Inmates are searched for valuables not allowed in the facility . These are put away for Safe –Keeping
Room allocation: Inmates allocated rooms on a communal basis Exceptions made on religious grounds

Background
Lindela was opened in 1996
Consists of two distinct separate and independent sections, Home Affairs and Lindela Accommodation Centre

DHA is legally and administratively responsible for all matters per to the apprehension, detention, processing, repatriation ar release of illegal aliens at Lindela.

Lindela accommodation centre management has no authority over the apprehension, detention, repatriation or release of any person at Lindela

= An induction programme is offered to inform detainees of the "home their legal rights, visiting procedures, etc

= Three well balances and dietetically approved meals are provided to the detainees
= Provision is made for Therapeutic Dietary requirements
= These are monitored by a registered dietician and by Quality Management Specialists

= Each room is equipped with a bathroom, consisting of a shower, a toilet and wash basin with dispensing units

= Detainees are allowed as much freedom, recreation and entertainment as possible to make their stay at Lindela as comfortable as possible
= Recreation include:
* TV's in all rooms and at various locations in the centre
* Outdoor games Mini soccer field
* Netball field

* Public telephones, and cell phone charging facilities
* Creche and playground for children
* Fully stocked canteen

- Medical (primary healthcare facility)
= Staffed with 6 qualified nurses permanently at Lindela 24/7/365
= A registered medical doctor is on duty daily and after hours if required
= Quality assurance on medical is done monthly by an external doctor
= A patient transport vehicle is available on a 24/7/365, for cases which may require further medical treatment at Leratong hospital

Quality Management
