NEW CLAUSE

Inquiries in respect of mentally impaired registered persons

 

40. The Council may hold an inquiry in the prescribed manner in respect of a person registered in terms of this Act who appears to be mentally

impaired and if that person is found on assessment to be impaired, the Council may-

(a) impose prescribed conditions relating to the registration of that person; or

(b) suspend or remove such person from practice.

Proposal for a new clause:

Laying of complaints

7. (1) Any person may lay a compliant with the Council about the way in which he or she was treated by a registered health practitioner or student.

(2) ln laying a complaint, the person contemplated in subsection (1) must follow the prescribed procedure.
