Section 4 of the principal Act is amended-

1. by the deletion of subsection (1) and the substitution therefore of the following:

1. a Chairperson, appointed by the Minister, as a non-executive member,
2. the Chief Executive Officer, and
3. such number of senior personnel, chief examiners as the Minister may determine having regard to the volume of applications and complaints which will be submitted to the Board in terms of this Act.

1. by the deletion of subsection (2) and the substitution therefore of the following:

2. During the absence of the Chairperson, an Acting Chairperson shall be appointed by the Minister.

The following further amendments are suggested, following the amendment to section 4 of the principal Act:

Section 14 of the principal Act is amended by the addition of the words "Chairperson of the" after the word "the" and before the words "Board shall" in subsection (1).

Section 15 of the principal Act is amended by the deletion of subsection (a) and the substitution therefore of the following:

1. shall, whenever it becomes necessary for the performance of the functions, exercise of the powers or the carrying out of the duties of the Executive Committee, convene a meeting of the Executive Committee and, in the case of the Board, shall, at the request of, or in consultation with, the Chairperson of the Board, convene a meeting of the Board.

By inserting the word "knowingly" at the start of the proposed amendment in section 27(a)(iv), so that that section will read as follows:
