Report of the Select Committee on Security and Constitutional Affairs on the Southern African Development Community Protocol on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, dated 2 April 2003:

The Select Committee on Security and Constitutional Affairs, having considered the request for approval by Parliament of the Southern African Development Community Protocol on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, referred to it, recommends that the Council, in terms of section 231(2) of the Constitution, approve the said Protocol, and recommends further that the Director-General: Justice and Constitutional Development, in terms of Article 3 of the Protocol, be designated as the Central Authority to make and receive requests pursuant to this Protocol.
