The Provincial Standing Committee in the National Council of Provinces mandates the
KwaZulu-Natal delegation to the National Council of Provinces to support the Education
Laws Amendment Bill [IB38B 2003] subject tothe following amendments:
1. Clause 1(a)
To amend clause 1 (a) by the substitution thereof for the following;
"(1) The Authority must consist of a Chairperson who must be appointed in terms of subsection (2), such members as must be appointed in terms of subsection (3) and (4), and an executive officer who must be appointed in terms or subsection (8)."
In the event of the proviso not being complied with, the proposed amendment/s must be referred to the Provincial Standing committee on NCOP for decision.
