FIREARMS CONTROL AMENDMENT BILL

CLAUSE 1

1. On page 2, from line 5, to omit the definition of "airgun" and to substitute:

"airgun" means any device manufactured to discharge a bullet or any other projectile-

(a) of a [caliber] calibre of less than 5.6 mm (.22 [calibre] calibre); or

(b) at a muzzle energy of less than 8 joules (6ft-lbs),

by means of compressed gas and not by means of burning propellant;

2. On page 3, from line 1, to omit paragraph (f).

CLAUSE 24

1. On page 6, in line 47, to omit "and commencement".

2. On page 6, from line 48, to omit ", and comes into effect on a date determined by the President by proclamation in the Gazette".

LONG TITLE

1. On page 2, from the third line, to omit all the words after "expressions;" up to and including "regulations;" in the fourth line.
