Three Road Traffic Information Reports for 1999, 2000 and 2001 are being prepared for printing and distribution. These reports will contain information on accidents, casualties, vehicles, etc compared to previous periods and accident rates and trends.

1999 Report : 80%
complete. Tables are updated.
2000 Report : 50%
complete.

Written parts of 1999 Report have to be re-written.
2000 Report tables and written parts to be completed.

After 1999 report was complete a re-run of NaTIS was done during which most of the figures changed.
Many figures for 1999 and some for 2000 are obviously very incorrect, indicating poor completion of forms by SAPS and poor capturing of data onto the NaTIS.
Data on accident locations are non-existent.

An audit was undertaken into the figures of the Eastern Cape but did not achieve production of wrong figures.

To continue with the project.
Finalise reports by:
1999 : Dec 2002
2000 : Jan 2003
2001 : Mch 2003
