THE OPEN DEMOCRACY BILL, 1998
I refer to your undated letter (your reference 3/15/15/2(HMS)) which was received on 31 July 1998. I apologise for the delay in responding. This was due to pressure of work.
This Bill is a comprehensive piece of draftsmanship which meets the requirements set out in the objects clause. I have no comment to offer on the contents, save that in the Afrikaans text the words "High Court" am translated as "Hoë hof" whereas the Department of Justice has quite correctly pointed out that the translation is "Hooggeregshof".
