Meeting Summary
The Committee considered and adopted, with amendments, various minutes of meetings held in 2007. The Committee’s management committee was tasked with reviewing all Committee reports before they appeared before the Committee for adoption. The Draft 2008 Programme was briefly discussed.
Meeting report
The Committee considered and adopted, with amendments, its minutes of meetings held on 28 February 2007, 7 March 2007, 22 April 2007, 22 May 2007, 23 May 2007, 30 May 2007, 20 June 2007, 7 August 2007, 21 August 2007, 4, 11 and 12 September 2007 and 2 and 3 October 2007. The Committee’s minutes on the meeting held on 5 September 2007 was not adopted due to lack of sufficient content.
Mr G Scheemann (ANC) commented that the quality of the minutes was not acceptable. He suggested that the presentations made at the Committee meetings should be included as annexures to the minutes and that the Committee’s question and answer sessions be included as well.
The Chairperson agreed. She suggested that the Committee’s management committee review the next set of minutes that would come before the Committee.
Committee Draft 2008 Programme
The Chairperson suggested that further review be given to the draft Programme. Adoption would take place at a later date.
The Chairperson adjourned the meeting.
