NOMINATIONS TO CENTRAL DRUG AUTHORITY: RECOMMENDATIONS

The committee recommended that the Minister of Welfare and Population Development in terms of Section 2(3)(b) of the Prevention and Treatment of Drug Dependency Act 20 of 1992 be advised to appoint the following persons:

Dr DN Bayever (Gauteng)
Mr SV Mathe (Gauteng)
Mr GF Jardine (Western Cape)
Ms AS Moleko (Gauteng)
Prof S Rataemane (Free State)
Prof DW Malaka (Northern Province)
Adv TJ Hoekstra (Free State)
Mr DC Moodliar (KwaZulu Natal)
Mr DC Mynhardt (Gauteng)
Rev. TJ Fredericks (Western Cape)
Ms L da Rocha-Silva (Gauteng)

The final list was adopted with no objections. The Chairperson, Mr E Saloojee (ANC), said that he was satisfied with the recommendations as it consisted of experienced people who were active in civil society organisations and government institutions.
