Meeting report

The Chairperson said there would be no progress report by the KZN province. The Director-General apologised to the Chairperson as this was due to prior commitments. The agenda was amended and adopted by the Committee.

The Chairperson cautioned against the changing of meeting agendas when the programme of the Committee for the term had been adopted. Additionally, all Members must receive documents well within time.

Mr K Ceza (EFF) emphasised the need for provinces to take the Committee seriously and honour the Committee invitations.

Minor amendments were made.

The report said the majority of the Committee decided not to proceed with the Private Member’s Bill.

The report was adopted.

Report of the Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs on Determination of Remuneration of the Public Office Bearers of the CRL Rights Commission

The Chairperson went through the report.

The report said the Committee supports and approves the intended Determination by the President of the Republic, in relation to the public office bearers of the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities.

The report was adopted.
