The Committee met to consider and adopt outstanding reports.

In the draft report on its Oversight Visit to Police Stations in and around Port Elizabeth, the Committee made a number of suggestions and amendments to some terms and sentence structure along with minor amendments to spelling, grammar and general editing. The report was adopted with these amendments.

The Committee then considered its draft report on the 2015/2016 Budget Vote 20 of the Private Security Industry Alliance (PSIRA) where Members made amendments similarly related to sentence structure, grammar and editing. The Committee did not have a quorum to adopt the report so it, along with the other outstanding and minutes, would be adopted at a later date when there was a quorum.

Committee Business
The Chairperson noted that tomorrow the Committee would meet with the audit committee of the SA Police Service (SAPS) to steps to ensure the recommendations of the Auditor-General of SA were implemented.

The Committee would today be considering and adopting three outstanding reports and a number of sets of outstanding minutes as of August.

As this was the first time Members were viewing the report, the Chairperson took Members through the report page by page. 

Members noted amendments to be made to the spelling of Members names and the date reflected on a page in the report.
A number of suggestions were made on alternative wording and sentence structure to better reflect the intention of the statement.
Questions were raised to clarify the positions of some of the officials present on the oversight visit.

Members also made amendments to spelling, grammar and general editing.

The Committee went through the document page by page.

Members made amendments similarly related to sentence structure, grammar and editing.
The Committee did not have a quorum to adopt the report so it, along with the other outstanding and minutes, would be adopted at a later date when there was a quorum.

The Committee agreed to deal with the outstanding minutes over the course of the coming weeks.

The meeting was adjourned.
