The Ad Hoc Joint Committee on Appointment of Board Members to the National Youth Development Agency short-listed 13 candidates who would be interviewed on 29 and 30 March 2016.

Meeting report

The Chairperson informed Members the number of applications received totalled 131.

The Members agreed that the short-listing process would consider gender representation; geographical spread of the candidates; continuity for institutional memory; and age. It was agreed that short-listed candidates should not be above 35 years. The identity numbers of those short-listed would be checked after the short-listing process. Of the 13 candidates recommended, 3 were retained for continuity. The Committee then agreed on the following names:

  1. Pillay, Yershen
  2. Morolong, Itiseng
  3. Majozi, Zandile
  4. Josopu, Thembinkosi
  5. Maponopono, Naledi
  6. Ngema, Sibusiso
  7. Hlongwa, Bavelile
  8. Mokako, Thokozani
  9. Olivier, Joy
  10. Jacobs, Juliana
  11. Mbasa, S (previous list)
  12. Tshefuta, Thobela
  13. Nkatshu, Nomzamo

The Committee agreed that the list of the recommended candidates would be published in the National Parliament website, twitter, and relevant media channels. The vetting and security clearance would be done before the interviews are conducted.
