Meeting Summary
The Committee elected Ms D Letsatsi-Duba as Chairperson.
The next meeting of the Committee would be on 2 July when it would be briefed by the committee researcher on how the Budget Vote worked, on the sector and an analysis of the Budget. In the afternoon, the Department of Public Enterprises would present its strategic plan and budget. On 9 July the Committee would consider the Department’s strategic plan and develop a Committee Report on it.

Election of Chairperson
Ms Z Rantho (ANC) proposed Ms D Letsatsi-Duba for the position of Chairperson, seconded by Mr R Tseli (ANC). Ms Letsatsi-Duba was elected Chairperson unopposed.
Committee Programme
The Committee Secretary said the next meeting of the Committee would be on 2 July when it would hear presentations on how the Budget Vote worked, an overview of the sector and the impact of the Budget on the sector as well as an analysis of the Budget by the Committee researcher. In the afternoon session, the Department of Public Enterprises would present its strategic plan and its budget to the Committee.
On 9 July the Committee would meet to consider the Department’s plan and develop the Committee’s report.
Mr N Singh (IFP) proposed the adoption of the Committee programme, seconded by Mr E Marais (DA).
