Home Affairs: adoption of Committee Minutes

Meeting report

An ANC member proposed that the two minutes be drafted separately and not be combined.

This motion was seconded by another Committee Member.

The Chairperson advised that there was a format that had to be adhered to and thus they could not separate the minutes.

Ms K Magau (ANC) pointed out that the wrong initials were in front of her name in the draft minutes.

The Chairperson said that the error would be corrected.

A Member stated that he had not yet been appointed to the Committee and was unsure of what needed to be done.

The Chairperson replied that it was the responsibility of individual parties to nominate their Members to various Committees. This matter must be referred to the political party concerned.

The Chairperson noted that the Committee membership fluctuated quite a bit and hoped that this situation stabilizes soon.

The minutes were adopted with amendments.

The meeting was adjourned.
